This retail building's prominent location in the recently designated Upper Montclair Historic District was the inspiration for the new design and reconstruction. It is now better suited to stand in this neighborhood, rich in Tudor and Arts and Crafts structures.

The building will be designed to allow reconstruction around existing tenants. This thoroughly detailed and deftly sited project has been enthusiastically approved by the Montclair Historic Preservation Commission.
